IF YOU CREATE, CARE FOR OR HELP MANAGE CREATIVE WORK, YOU BELONG HERE.
MMC / MAKE SOMETHING OF YOUR OWN
The first demo. The midnight idea. A track made with AI. You don’t need a label, a team or a professional budget to take your creative work seriously.
Make room for what’s next01 / START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE
Not every artist has a metadata department. Not every author has an administrator. Not every estate inherits an organized archive. Serious creative work deserves serious infrastructure, regardless of budget.
01 / GATHER
Organize music, writing, metadata, rights records, registrations, agreements and creative history in your private Catalog Vault.
02 / CONNECT
Connect works, people, identifiers, evidence and provenance. Keep unknowns visible instead of turning missing information into a claim.
03 / KEEP CONTROL
Work alone or invite people you trust. Your catalog data and exports remain yours. Basic catalog control belongs in Free Core.
02 / COPYRIGHT PASSPORT
Copyright Passport brings assertions, supporting evidence, contributors and provenance into a connected record. The free workbook is available today; an embedded Vault experience is planned.
For AI-assisted and AI-generated music, document tools, source notes and human contributions alongside the work. Make the process understandable.
MMC documents assertions, evidence and provenance. It does not declare ownership or determine copyright eligibility.
ONE WORK. ITS CONNECTED HISTORY.
Recorded information ≠ verified ownership.
FUTURE VISION / PROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION
Clean up a catalog. Prepare for licensing. Organize evidence for a copyright challenge. Hire help for one task, a short project or an ongoing professional relationship. Bring your own professional or arrange a match with someone whose expertise fits the work.
Get the free workbook ↗Planned workflow: define a brief, choose support and review the work. For current inquiries, contact MMC directly.
You and your professional agree the task, deliverables, fees and timeline.
Choose which records they can access and for how long. Keep access scoped to the agreed work.
Review each delivery through Work Orders and owner approval. Scope further tasks as the relationship grows.
FOR PROFESSIONALS & FREELANCERS
Turn your skills into paid client work: catalog cleanup, metadata preparation, licensing readiness, archive research or rights documentation. Work with independent creators, DIY labels and the people caring for creative legacies.
Bring your clients into MMC, or collaborate on an arranged match. Clients invite you to the agreed records; review the offer and terms, complete the work and submit it for owner review.
See the Work Order workflowProfessional services are paid separately from Free Core. Matching, qualification checks and payments are arranged directly; MMC records the agreed terms and work.
03 / KNOW WHAT COMES NEXT
Catalog Health shows which records need attention and why. Turn that attention into clear Work Orders, so the owner and the professional understand the scope, deliverables and review.
Paper moons / Composition
Missing information is a prompt to investigate, not proof that the work is unregistered.CLEAR WORK ORDER
Scope: one composition.
Deliverable: findings and supporting evidence.
Review: catalog owner approves the work.
Use the flags and evidence to work through your catalog at your own pace.
Invite your manager, archivist, rights adviser or metadata specialist with scoped access.
Record the help you need. Matching and vetting are manually coordinated; scope and terms are agreed before work begins.
04 / THE FREE CORE PROMISE
Catalog Vault is coming soon, with permanent Free Core planned. No monthly subscription for the foundation. No installation project or system to build yourself. Put your time and budget into what you create; add paid capabilities when your work calls for them.

MMC GUIDES
A starting point for understanding music copyright and registration.
Read the guide ↗EVIDENCE / MMC ON SUBSTACKThink through the records behind an ownership claim.
Read the guide ↗AI PERMISSIONS / MMC ON SUBSTACKWhy permission needs a specific use, scope and supporting evidence.
Read the guide ↗In the United States, copyright generally arises when an original work is fixed in a tangible form, such as a recording or written score. Registration is a separate process through the U.S. Copyright Office. A musical composition and its sound recording are distinct works; check the appropriate application and requirements for each. MMC helps organize your information and evidence. It does not register your copyright. See the Copyright Office’s music registration resources ↗.
The Copyright Passport workbook is free to download and use for your internal operations. Catalog Vault is coming soon, with a permanent Free Core planned for basic catalog records and export. Custom Mods and implementation are paid work with scope and fees agreed in advance.
MMC documents ownership assertions, evidence and provenance. It does not determine ownership or copyright eligibility, and a Passport is not a government registration or a legal ruling.
Visit the free workbook page, complete the short form, then choose “Download the workbook.” Version 1.1 includes separate AI provenance, permissions and evidence logs.
